Clerk to Governing Bodies
We are seeking to recruit either 2x Clerk to the Governing Bodies for 3x locations or 1x Clerk to the Governing Bodies covering all 3x locations.
Location: Westcountry Schools Trust – Multiple Locations (South Dartmoor Community College & the Atrium, Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Primaries)
Pay Scale: NJC Grade D, SCP 7-12 (£20,092 – £22,183) Pro-rata
Hours: 300 Hours per annum total (potential opportunity for hours to be split) 75 hours pa (each Primary School) / 150 hours pa for the Secondary 39 weeks per year
To commence: January 2022

We are seeking to recruit either 2x Clerk to the Governing Bodies for 3x locations or 1x Clerk to the Governing Bodies covering all 3x locations. The Trust is ideally looking for individual(s) with previous clerking or reasonable experience.
The role of Clerk to the Governing body will be expected to:
Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The new regulations require governing bodies to have regard to advice from the clerk in regards to exercising the governing body functions:
- Provide effective administrative support to the governing body and its committees
- Ensure the governing body is properly constituted in line with Trust requirements
- Manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements

- 2 individuals to undertake 2x posts being; Clerk to the Local Governing Bodies for the Primaries or Clerk to the Local Governing Body for the Secondary; or
- 1x post covering all 3 locations
