Dear Colleagues,

As we conclude a long and demanding Autumn Term, it's essential to reflect on the collective progress we've made together. This term has been challenging, but our combined efforts have yielded significant accomplishments, underscoring the themes of aspiration and collaboration that define our work at the Trust.

We began this term knowing that our pupils performed extremely well in last summer's national assessments. As the term progressed, national statistics revealed that at every key point, our children's performance surpassed national averages, a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team. This is particularly noteworthy in our recent GCSE results, where our Progress 8 (P8) score of +0.07 outshone the national average of -0.01, and 50% of our students achieved a strong pass in both English and Maths, compared to the national average of 45.9%.

Our commitment to high standards was further evidenced by two successful Ofsted inspections that have bookended the term. In early September, South Dartmoor Community College (SDCC) was graded 'Good' across the board, and in the last week of term, Woodford Primary School received commendations from inspectors. Well done to the team at Woodford.

One of our key priorities remains improving school attendance, a goal we share to ensure every child benefits fully from their education. When we return to the Spring Term, we must ensure that we do all we can to ensure strong attendance.

I close the term by extending my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your unwavering commitment and resilience. Together, we have made tangible strides that we can be proud of.

Wishing you all a restful break and a joyful festive season.

Best wishes,

Rob Haring

CEO
