Internal to WeST – Trust Attendance Manager / Assistant DPO

Grade F (£31,099 to £34,723 per annum)

Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week (flexible hours will be considered)

Westcountry Schools Trust is excited to announce an internal recruitment campaign for a new Trust Attendance Manager / Assistant DPO position.

Working under the strategic direction of the Education Information Analyst/Data Protection Officer, the postholder will be responsible for leading a high-quality information, guidance and support service, with a specific focus on school and pupil-level attendance information. The postholder will also provide effective support for data protection activities, including assisting the Data Protection Officer as required.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • monitoring and delivery of trust attendance priorities, in line with legal requirements and trust attendance expectations
  • undertaking routine and complex tasks to secure effective development of attendance functions
  • working with attendance teams in schools to ensure legal compliance in relation to school and trust responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • demonstrate a thorough understanding of school attendance procedures and legal requirements
  • have recent experience of working within a team, leading or influencing colleagues to secure positive improvements in performance
  • be self-motivated and able to work co-operatively to improve attendance procedures across the trust
  • be passionate about education and have a developed understanding of how outstanding attendance can improve life chances of children and young people in our schools
  • share and demonstrate the values of the Trust

Callington Community College are looking to fill the following vacancies: 

Teacher of Mathematics - Callington are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and inspirational candidate, with outstanding inter-personal skills, to teach Mathematics. Callington would expect the successful candidate to be able to teach across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. This post is suitable for an experienced teacher with a passion for Mathematics. Closing date: Monday 5 December 2022. 

Behaviour Manager - Callington are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic colleague who would have a well-developed understanding of strategies to manage and support young people with challenging behaviour in a school environment. This position is ideal if you have a proven ability to manage and motivate young people between the ages of 11-16. Closing date: Monday 5 December 2022.

Are you a WeST colleague and interested in some additional temporary work? We have a number of opportunities for short term additional hours in our schools due to exceptional circumstances. We are particularly looking for support staff colleagues with skills in operational roles such as: receptionist, administration, and first aider. These roles are during the school day so you will need to be able to commit to one or more days per week and they are likely to be temporary to the end of term. They will be paid at NJC rates on a casual claim basis.
