International Outdoor Learning Day 7th November 2019

Millions of children all around the world have been taking part in International Outdoor Learning day. As this is one of the things we proudly deliver, we jumped at the chance to do more learning outside. There was a real buzz around the school with Mothecome class doing art work, Wonwell class 'stick counting' in maths and doing chalk phonics and Foundation having story time outside. We even did our assembly outside! Holbeton children are very aware of the positive impact that being outside can have on their mental health and well being and feel very lucky that they get to learn outdoors on a regular basis. Please click here to see more photos of Wonwell class.

    Forest School fun!

Forest School links to the work that we do in School. This helps to support the children's learning and development of skills in a different context. On Monday Wonwell class made jingle bell sticks as part of our focus on music while Mothecombe class created an igloo like structure that could keep out the elements. Both classes made pitta bread pizzas, which was an ideal opportunity to talk abut science and the role of the tin foil in helping things to cook. A fantastic afternoon was had by all.
